Online Career Day by PTB&ASII
This morning I am attending presentations at Online Career Day. At this point it seems kinda boring for me because the speakers are talking about anything but “online”. Their presentation is more about algoritmics and programming. I am quite surprised, though, that these guys are stating the “stay in school” message and this is something to appreciate. School is important but I can see a reason why they are speaking about this here. Drop out rate at the Faculty of Informatics is really high and students are more interested to make money in a very attractive sector.
First presentation has just ended and now it begins the second one. It’s Krumel, Razvan Alexa, Alex Volocaru and Cristian Ignat. They promise to speak about marketing online and this is why I came here. I guess we’ll see.

Later edit: Like I promised I’m back with the later info and even sooner than I expected. I have attended all the presentations and the disscusions afterwards. After the break there was a really specific presentation about what it means to be an online entrepreneur by Silviu Savin, a Q&A sessiom with Marius Alexa and another presentation about the Online Marketing Market in Ro by Ciprian Gavriliu. I think the last two presentations should have been positioned first in the event’s schedule because they were more introductive and I don’t think everybody in the room was an internet marketing exepert. In fact, I wonder how many of them really knew what SEO, SEM, PPC, CPM, CPA or other acronims mean. I don’t mean to offend anyone but I think the first 2 presentations/disscusions were a bit too specific and the speakers presumed that the audience was formed exclusevly from students from the Faculty of Informatics and I can assure you they were wrong.
Anyway it was a very nice event and I hope ODO will soon organize the second, third, fourth edition and so on! Congrats and I hope I will be able to attend more and more events like this. Maybe some seminars or workshops soon?

I enjoyed it. Maybe that’s because i’m a SEO and SEM enthusiast so I kindda related to the second subject. I’m not the “web developing” kind of guy so the first part was rather boring for me too. I enjoyed this event and hope to participate in another one as soon as possible.
I think the next time we’ll be talking about theese things will be in the “Link your Business” meeting on 26 of March. I don’t have much info on that.
